A home décor and gift retailer operated a thoughtfully curated physical store known for seasonal collections, unique decorative items, and giftable products. The retailer’s success depended on frequent product rotation, limited-quantity items, and strong visual merchandising.
The retailer used Retail Pro to manage inventory and point-of-sale operations. To establish an online presence, the retailer launched a Wix-based online store to showcase collections and enable online ordering. However, managing two systems independently soon became overwhelming.
Each new collection required duplicate data entry—products were created in Retail Pro and then recreated in Wix. Inventory levels had to be adjusted manually, often at the end of the day. During holiday seasons and promotional events, inventory inaccuracies became common, leading to canceled orders and disappointed customers.
To streamline operations, the retailer adopted POS and eCommerce integration using Octopus Bridge. Retail Pro became the master system, while Wix reflected product and inventory data with near real-time synchronization.
Once integration was implemented, duplicate data entry was eliminated. Products added in Retail Pro appeared automatically in the online store, and inventory levels updated consistently as sales occurred both online and in-store. Online orders flowed directly into Retail Pro, allowing staff to process fulfillment without additional systems or manual reconciliation.
The retailer experienced immediate operational relief. Staff spent less time on administrative tasks and more time on merchandising and customer engagement. Inventory accuracy improved, particularly during peak seasons when demand was highest.
From a customer perspective, the online shopping experience became more reliable. Shoppers saw accurate availability and experienced fewer order issues. The retailer also gained confidence in promoting limited-edition collections online, knowing that inventory data was dependable.
Integration allowed the retailer to treat the Wix store as a true sales channel rather than just a digital catalog, supporting sustainable growth without increasing operational complexity.
